Third Eye Asian Festival honors two Iranian shorts

The 18th Third Eye Asian Film Festival in Mumbai awards two Iranian short films.

The 18th edition of the Third Eye Asian Film Festival in Mumbai has awarded two Iranian short films.

The 15-min ‘Cover’ directed by Vahid Alvandifar succeeded to grab the 3rd (Shared) award of the Indian film event while Iran-UK joint short production ‘I'm Not My Body’ by Nima Akbarpour was honored with the best film award of the event.

‘Cover’ is about the situation that arises when the dead body of a worker suddenly comes alive.

The film that has been made at the Youth Cinema Society in Hamedan has already attended a number of national and international film events including, the Termeh Iranian Cultural Festival in Germany and the International Amity Short Film Festival in Turkey.

The 25-min ‘I'm Not My Body’ is Akbarpour’s first independent micro budget short film on the struggles of an immigrant Iranian news anchor who works for a Persian TV channel.

Third Eye Asian Film Festival promotes Asian cinema using multi-pronged approach of cultural activities.

The latest edition of the festival took place on March 1-6, 2020 in Mumbai.
